Sketchy Robot

Sketchy Robot started as a lockdown project in 2020. Since it was not possible to have in-person sessions, we explored how a robot could take the role of the artist and draw a live portrait without putting the model at risk.

The first version was cobbled together from random robot bits and pieces. Today, Sketchy is on Version 5 and from ground up designed, built and coded by us to best fit its purpose. Everything is done by hand, there is no AI involved.

Sketchy Robot has different artist personalities that draw portraits in different styles.

After a few years drawing portraits, Sketchy Robot has recently started to play around with maps.
